HONORING VETERANS AT ST.JAMES’ CHURCH – NOV. 10TH

7:45 am Rite I service Veterans recognized, 2019

St. James’ Church recognizes its Veterans present at all of the parish’s three Sunday services. As the men and women who have formerly served share a little bit about their service–typically the branch in which they served, their rank, and the period during which they served–the congregation then offers corporate prayers for them. And the church family extends prayers as well to those serving in the armed forces today.

Something extra-special was furthermore offered at the 11:00 a.m. Traditional Rite II Eucharistic service in that, in honor of the 100th Anniversary of the end of World War I, the chancel choir offered an a capella hymn stanza which was immediately followed by the tolling of 21 Bells at the very beginning of the liturgy.

And, it was shared by one of our former Marines, that November 10, 2019–the day before Veterans Day 2019–is also to be recognized as the 244th Birthday of the United States Marine Corps!

To Our Veterans, We Offer Great Thanks!
