The Alpha Youth Series Presented By Lauren Taylor

Parishioner Lauren Taylor leads Alpha Youth Series as

Digital Missioner for Youth

The Education Committee of the parish is very pleased to have Lauren Taylor take on the brand-new role of Digital Missioner for Youth. Lauren kicked off her leadership in this role teaching the Alpha Youth Series, which shares Jesus’ message with teens through video curriculum and group discussions that engage young people around the world to discuss life’s biggest questions.

Lauren, who along with her family members, husband Ron, daughter Georgia, and sons Jack and Alex, are members of St. James’. Before COVID Lauren and her children were regular attendees and participants at the 9:00 a.m. Contemporary service. However, it must also be noted that, while the two boys were learning the ropes (literally!) of acolyting, they would sometimes attend the former 11:00 a.m. service too.

Through these challenging times Lauren continues as an educator within the Downingtown Area School District. She teaches Family and Consumer Science at Downingtown West High School. Her classes include Baking, Global Foods, Introduction to Foods, and Child Development. Lauren teaches 9th through 12th grades and has been at West since 2003. At her home parish, Christ Church-Ridley Park, she was heavily involved with youth ministry and is no stranger to EYE (“Episcopal Youth Event”). Lauren has fond recollections of her own youth group experiences within The Episcopal Church; consequently, she is excited about offering similar experiences for our older children within the parish.
